Everything you need to know about the Amazing Race Brisbane team building activity

 

The Amazing Race has been called the “just right” team activity for good reason, it suits teams large and small, young and old, introverts and extroverts! Anyone fit enough for a brisk walk can manage it easily.

 

We have two courses in Brisbane: Gardens and City, City and South Bank

 

Gardens and City: This course starts in the beautiful and peaceful surrounds of the Botanic Gardens and includes a history walk challenge along George St, checkpoints at Queens Park and King Edward Park, with a finish in either King George Square or Anzac Square.

One good place for a beer could be the Grand Central Hotel. It has the least walking distance and is easily manageable even if the team are not physically active people.

 

City and Southbank:  This course starts in the City Centre at Anzac Square, heads to King George Square for some checkpoint activities and continues a traditional city scramble style activity all the way to Southbank.

 

We use the length of Southbank for our final activities, finishing for a refreshing drink near the Maritime Museum at venues such as Popolo or Ship Inn.

 

This course has slightly more walking distance than the Gardens course though there would be the option for team members to ride bikes.

 

What happens during the Amazing Race Brisbane team building activity

 

We start by splitting groups into smaller teams of around 5-7 people. After the warm-up games, groups leave the start in closely timed intervals. Each of the teams is briefed, then given a map and a clue to the first checkpoint. At 4 checkpoints there are either activity challenges or questions. Challenges are generally quite quirky and are ever so slightly outside most people’s comfort zones.

 

Nothing is too hard and along with their map they have a number to call to avoid anyone getting lost. On the final leg, teams complete the very popular “Photo Shoot” challenge. For this, each team has a digital camera and a list of photos to compose and take. Different tasks will require teamwork, strategy, creativity, observation or problem solving and allow different team members to lead. It is a true team event, no one person can be good at all the activities, the best teams are those that allow the most people to shine.

 

 

This event will stimulate the team’s approach to planning, creativity, ingenuity, trust and teamwork in a single fun event that gets rave reviews from all types of teams.
