Everything you need to know about the Brisbane City Challenge team building activity
This Brisbane team building activity is a team based one. Each team is given a clue book, map and instructions on how to complete the challenge. Within the clue book is a series of things (street art, significant landmarks etc.) around Brisbane – teams are required to find these and complete a task there (e.g. writing down the significance, taking a picture of them doing something at that location, or taking a video of themselves doing something at that location). There are also two head-to-head challenges – one at the start and one at the midway point, in which all teams come together to compete for points. All of the other challenges can be done in any order the teams choose, so outside of the set start and midway challenges, teams are self-directed. The activity is points-based, not time-based; in the event of a tie on points, however, the team that arrives at the finish location first wins.
What happens during the Brisbane City Challenge team building activity?
Teams will be given their equipment and will be briefed on the rules, midway challenge location and finish location. They then get time to peruse the clue book and strategise how they will go about completing the challenges (as they can be done in any order).
Teams will then be given the instructions for a head-to-head challenge, which is done at the start to get the competition started in. Once teams have completed the challenge, they are then able to start their self-directed hunt to find clues and complete the challenges in the clue book.
At the midway time and location (given in the briefing), teams meet again for a second head-to-head challenge (as well as being provided with some water and lollies to help keep them going). The challenge has a specific starting time, so arriving early will not benefit teams in any way (however, arriving late will cost them points).
After the midway challenge is completed, teams continue to navigate their way through the clue book, until the completion time. At this point teams submit their answers for marking, and are provided with water and snacks whilst they wait for this to happen.
Once the marking is completed an awards ceremony takes place, with the winning team being awarded medals.
